On Saturday, April 1st, 2017, (rain date April 2nd), Avalon will hold its annual Spring Volunteer Dune Grass Planting. All the members of your organization or school are encouraged to participate. Past volunteers agree it is a rewarding and enjoyable experience.
Volunteers will meet at Avalon Community Hall, 30th Street and the beach, at 8:30 a.m.
for coffee and donuts, at which time a brief planting demonstration will be given. Then
at 9:00 a.m. Avalon Borough vehicles will take all volunteers to their planting sites.
At noon, participants will be returned to Community Hall for a free lunch. Planting will
resume at 1:00 p.m. through 3:00 p.m., if planting has not been completed during the
morning. We will have 10,000 dune grass stolons to plant, so many volunteers are needed. Specially designed planting tools will be provided to all volunteers.
If you can commit to participate and will also stay for lunch the organizers need a head count so they can have an accurate number for the lunches. Please email Mike Matt at email@example.com.
