Tandem Bike Raises $750 for Bike Safety

In recent years, AHLOA has auctioned off a refurbished bicycle in order to promote bike safety awareness.  All proceeds from the auction are used to directly fund our bike safety initiatives.  We are delighted to report that the tandem bike that was auctioned this year, Tyger II, raised an amazing (and record setting) $750.  A special thank you goes out to Eileen Donovan, outgoing AHLOA VP of Programs, who donated the bike to AHLOA.  Our gratitude extends as well to the Avalon Public Works department who restored the bike to incredible mint condition.  And our congratulations – and heartfelt thanks – ends with Trisha Luing who got to “ride Tyger II home” with her generous, winning bid.

Be watching for our bike auction again next spring with the winner announced at the Annual Members Meeting in August.  Please contact us if you have an old bike that you would like to donate.  Public Works can “work their magic” once again regardless of the current condition of your donated bike.
