Avalon Borough Approves Dredging in Pennsylvania Harbor
Avalon Borough Council authorized a bid process January 23rd for a back-bay dredging project in the public channel west of 21st Street in Pennsylvania Harbor. See the article in the Cape May Herald for additional details.
2019 Changes to Avalon Construction Rules
At their Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019 meeting, Avalon Borough Council held the 2nd public reading and associated public hearing, and subsequently adopted the ordinance changes that regulate construction activity in the Borough. Following public meetings and dialogue with many affected parties throughout 2018, including AHLOA’s executive committee representing membership input, Borough Council made changes to various regulations stated in the Borough Code which now go into effect May 1st, 2019.

A look at the Avalon and Stone Harbor Elementary School
Our guest speakers at the AHLOA monthly meeting on Saturday, January 12th were Mrs. Stacy LaRocca Tracy, Chief School Administrator and Dr. Renee Murtaugh, Curriculum Director of the Avalon and Stone Harbor Elementary School. Mrs. Tracy and Dr. Murtaugh were proud to share all of the exciting programs available for the students at both sites. Sub-Freezing Temperatures Sunday Night Through Tuesday
With below freezing temperatures in the forecast for Avalon Sunday night through Tuesday, the Borough has posted some recommended preparation and prevention tips from Middlesex Water company, Avalon’s water and sewer system manager. South Jersey Gas Service Improvement Project - Phase 2 and 3
The AHLOA executive committee and trustees continue to receive numerous questions from Avalon residents regarding the North End work currently in progress by South Jersey Gas and its contractors. If you reside in Avalon's North End, you likely have received a notice regarding the impact to your property. If you have recently driven on Avalon or 1st Avenue north of 30th, the work underway is quite apparent.
