Planning/Zoning Board: April 13th
The April 13th Planning/Zoning Board meeting addressed two applications for variances:
The first applicant, Booth Adventure, whose property is at 464 22nd Street, sought a five-foot setback from their bulkhead to a pool. The current setback required is 15 feet. However, the Borough is in the process of amending the setback requirement to seven feet, but the amended ordinance is not yet in force. In view of the upcoming changes in the setback requirement, the applicant amended its application to request a seven-foot setback, which would be consistent with the pending new ordinance when it becomes effective. The Board granted the amended variance.
The second application was by William Toler for property at 4819 Fourth Ave. This application was also for a pool setback from a bulkhead. In this case, the Applicant sought a nine-foot setback where 15 feet is required. Again, the pending new ordnance requires a seven-foot setback, and in view of the impending change, the requested variance was granted.
