At the June 9th Council Meeting the following actions were taken:

• Resolutions approved:

  • Contract with Bay Atlantic Symphony for July 4th concert at Surfside Park

  • Contract for July 4th fireworks

  • Renewal of liquor licenses

  • Expansion of surfing beaches as a 1-year trial at 16th/17th Street and 20th Street

• Ordinances introduced for first reading:

  • Establish smoke-free environments within the Borough including the smoking of tobacco and cannabis, and cannabis materials or any other substances which can be smoked or ingested. The “free zone” is proposed for the entire business district from 19th to 34th Streets

  • Amending Chapter 12, section 7, which addresses dogs prohibited from certain places, specifically Surfside Park

• General Information

  • Mayor has extended the Executive Order to allow for outdoor dining in 2021
