Borough Council: May 10

Council held the regularly scheduled sessions on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. The following issues of interest were on the agendas:

  1. Council discussed the potential purchase of a street sweeper through the Sourcewell National Cooperative Pricing Agreement.

  2. Council approved a resolution related to the application for state funding for the annual Cops-in-Shops program. This is a proactive program which places plain clothes law enforcement in establishments to combat underage drinking during the summer months in Avalon.

  3. A resolution was approved authorizing the sale of surplus property, no longer needed for public use, with an online auction service.

Borough property owner Martha Wright congratulated council members Juzaitis and Wierman on their reelection to four-year terms on Council, and John McCorristin was congratulated on his election to a four-year term as mayor.  Each received in excess of 300 votes.
