Council held the regularly scheduled sessions on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. The following issues of interest were addressed:
Council will have a Reorganization Meeting on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 10:00 AM in the Council Chamber. This meeting will assign responsibilities to Council Members for the current operating year.
Council approved a resolution awarding the contract for the emergency dredging of Pennsylvania Harbor to Trident.
In an effort to streamline their meetings, Council will be combining the work session and regular public meeting into one. This will save time and still provide for discussion, voting on resolutions, public comment, regular reports, readings of ordinances, etc.
A resolution was approved awarding the contract for a study of the B-1 business district to Collier. Resident Martha Wright spoke in opposition to the contract stating that it was not comprehensive and appears to be limited to consideration for approval of a boutique hotel.
