Bike Safety

As you enjoy our beautiful island by bike, please be sure to wear a helmet (adults and children), lock your bike, and keep up with the local rules for where and when you can ride.  Take advantage of the one-way, Northbound or Southbound marked bike lanes on Dune, First and Avalon Avenues whenever possible.

Lock Your Bike / Registration

An unlocked bicycle presents a crime of opportunity and provides an easy way for a theft to occur.  The Avalon Police Department has a free bicycle registration program that enables you to register your bicycle with the police in the event it would be stolen. Call the Avalon Police Department at (609) 967-3411 for additional information.
