Meet Two of Our Trustees - Lynn Cruser and Tony Newshel

Meet Our Trustee – Lynn Cruser

Lynn graduated from Penn State with a degree in Business Management.  Her career was spent in the banking industry and she still has a passion for teaching personal finance.  Lynn was fortunate to retire early to raise her two sons, Trey and John, who now reside in Philadelphia.

Lynn and her husband George both vacationed in Avalon as kids, and in 2014 they built a home here.  They split their time between New Jersey, Maryland and Florida, where George has his business.  Three places keep them moving but they both enjoy the variety.

Lynn has been a Trustee of AHLOA since 2018 and she also serves on the PR committee and its Meeting Greeters Team. She has been very active in community service throughout her life serving on numerous boards. She is currently on two boards at Penn State, serves on a non-profit board for Chiari pain research, and she volunteers at Junior Achievement.  Lynn enjoys travelling, watching sports, beach time, and biking (with her helmet on of course!).

Meet Our Trustee – Tony Newshel

Tony is a lifetime “Philadelphia-area native” who resides full-time in Avalon with his wife Ginny.  Tony graduated from Holy Ghost Prep and LaSalle College, and spent the next 40 years as an information technology professional focused on domestic and international payments processing.  For the first half of his career Tony worked as an IT manager / CIO for large banks and ATM/POS/card payments processors, ultimately turning his career more entrepreneurial by launching a small, highly-specialized technology consulting company which still occupies him part-time from his Avalon home office.  His “new IT career” has become even more local and specialized as Tony is now responsible for AHLOA’s technology needs including our AHLOA.com website, Facebook page and membership database and associated processing.  He is also a member of the PR Team. Tony has been involved with AHLOA for many years, joining the leadership team as Trustee in 2017.

Tony and Ginny have three children and seven grandchildren, all of whom return to visit Avalon year-round as much as practical. Tony has numerous scuba diving certifications and training credentials and loves to spend his “below water” time in the Caribbean.
