AHLOA has been receiving inquires concerning the proposed project by TK12 Holdings LLC at 2800 Boardwalk. A Preliminary and Final Site Plan were presented to the Avalon Planning/Zoning Board on December 1st. The proposal is to construct an ice cream parlor and restaurant on the 1st floor of the current footprint with the second level partially covered and accessible to diners who prefer outside seating. A revised plan was submitted to the Planning/Zoning Board on January 4th and can be viewed here.
Based on the unsolicited comments we have received, AHLOA membership is split on the desirability of the proposed changes. It is beyond AHLOA’s purview to intervene in a particular planning/zoning project, particularly when membership is split in terms of impact and desirability. The Planning/Zoning Board has a process in place for those specifically impacted by the project. AHLOA has a trustee who attends the meetings so that we can keep our members informed of any significant potential projects.
