Council held their regularly scheduled sessions on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 and addressed the following topics:
A three-year fireworks contract was discussed and provides for fireworks displays on the 4th of July and New Year's Eve.
Bidding process for the 2023 hydraulic beach fill will go out shortly. This will be an expanded beach fill due to the increased loss of beach/sand from storms after the 2022 summer season. It is anticipated that this major effort will be completed by Memorial Day.
There will be a five-day pickle ball Tournament at the 8th Street courts in early September 2023. This is a major event with national and international media coverage. It is expected to bring significant business activity to Avalon and the surrounding area.
Ford Scott Associates conducted a financial audit of the Borough. This is the 14th year that there have been no recommendations as a result of the annual audit.
