Meet Our Trustee – Ramona Sanabria
Ramona is a resident of Avalon, NJ and is a retired registered nurse and Healthcare Marketing and Communications professional. She began her career in New York as a registered nurse until she moved to New Jersey. She attended Rowan University where she studied Marketing & Communications, launching a new career in healthcare. She was Senior VP of Marketing & Sales for Keystone Mercy Health Plan, among others. She ended her career managing her own consulting practice, Sanabria & Associates, focusing on targeting Latino consumers through community and health educational outreach programs and events. Most notably, she was part of a team at WHYY the Philadelphia based PBS station, to produce “Projecto Latina Salud” a documentary focused on the health issues affecting Hispanic women, airing on WHYY and Univision.
Ramona has been a member and trustee of AHLOA for over five years. She is also committed to civic and community service as director on numerous boards and remains active as a member of the Pennsylvania Statewide Latino Coalition (PSLC), Avalon Lions and Avalon Recreation Advisory Committee; as president of the Avalon Garden Club (AGC) and Avalon Performing Arts Council (APAC); as 1st VP of the Avalon Senior Citizens Organization (ASCO); and Volunteers with the Parish Nurse Program, Cape May Regional Medical Center.
Meet Our Trustee – Toni Simone
Toni is an Accounting / Marketing graduate from the University of Pennsylvania. She worked at Smith, Kline and French Labs in various administrative roles, the latest as Fleet Coordinator. Upon marrying, she became “Director of Research and Child Development” with her proudest accomplishment being her contribution towards raising three entrepreneurs — two girls and one boy who are successfully achieving the American Dream. She currently is VP of Lease Associates, Inc., a real estate investment and development firm. Toni resides in Wyomissing, PA (a suburb of Reading) with her husband. Her favorite interests include traveling, sewing, reading, computers, decorating and Avalon. Her favorite pastime is enjoying her three grandchildren.
Toni has been a member of AHLOA for the past seven years. For the past year, she has become actively involved as a PR Committee member and trustee. If you think she looks familiar to you, that’s because she is one of the friendly, smiling faces greeting you at the monthly AHLOA meetings. The Meeting Greeters Team is a newly formed unit within the PR Committee. Toni and her family have owned a vacation home on 7 Mile Island for many years. For the past nine years, it has been in Avalon. Her main interest in AHLOA is keeping Avalon the Shangri-La that it has always been.
