A Message From Your AHLOA Representatives

The AHLOA officers and trustees hope you and your family are safe, well and coping as best as possible. During these unsettling times, AHLOA’s primary role is to provide our members with the most up to date information as we find relevant data or are contacted by Borough officials asking for our help to keep the Avalon community informed of changing conditions.  Our focus is to provide this information in a timely fashion. We are using the “Did You Know” feature on our website, posts our Facebook page, via direct e-mail communication through Constant Contact (based on member opt-in), and via the quarterly Newsletter mailed to the permanent addresses of members choosing this option.

Several members who had specific questions concerning Borough conditions and services recently contacted us by phone (609-796-2491), via E-Mail (AHLOANews@GMail.com), or via the Contact Us section of our website.  We were able to quickly respond to these member’s needs. If we are not providing the information that you are seeking, please let us know. We are your Community Connection more than ever in these trying times.

If you have not recently visited AHLOA.com or the Borough’s website, let us point out some important information. On April 20th, the Borough reiterated the current state and local directives, announced the re-opening of the two Avalon marinas, posted a notice of cancellation of the Mull-Morial 5K Beach run Memorial Day weekend, and notified the public of the cancellation of all June events planned by the Avalon Performing Arts Council (APAC).  The Borough also announced that bulk trash pickup is currently scheduled in June.

To assist residential property owners who cannot visit the island, the Avalon Police Department is offering property inspections. This is a great service and the feedback to date has been very positive. If you would like to have your residence inspected, the information is available at the Police Department’s website.

The Avalon Chamber of Commerce and 7MBCA have moved “Indulge in Avalon 2020” to a virtual campaign. Visit the joint website to see what our local businesses are offering.  AHLOA encourages you to support our local businesses now when they need us most, and so when we return to the “new normal”, they will be here to provide their usual services well into the future.

All of us look forward to enjoying Avalon this summer. AHLOA, as your Community Connection, will bring you updates as soon as the information is available. We are looking forward with anxious anticipation a return to all that we love about Avalon - the beach, the bay, the boulevard -- and all of you, our Avalon community.
