Helen Diller Home Donation

AHLOA had the pleasure of presenting a $3,000 donation to the Helen Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children on Monday, July 18th. AHLOA President Lynn Cruser, Contributions Committee Chairperson Wayne Popowski, and Secretary Tony Newshel made the presentation to a group of campers under the new pavilion on the grounds at 26th Street. This week was Alumni Week at Diller, and former campers who ranged in age from 16 to 21 returned to catch up with old friends and staff members. The camaraderie within the alumni group demonstrated that the program provides an experience that lasts well beyond one summer week vacation.

The Helen L. Diller Vacation Home for Blind Children has been providing blind and visually impaired children an all-expense paid week of summer camp since 1972. The campers range in age from seven to fifteen years old. The Helen Diller Home is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year!
