The regularly scheduled Council Meeting was held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. The meeting was live streamed and a copy archived on the Borough Website. Two items were discussed:
A Resolution was approved due to the delay in mailing the annual real estate tax bills. The Resolution extended the interest-free deadline for the payment due in August. The deadline was extended from August 10 to August 22nd. Delays in getting tax information from Cape May County delayed the mailing of the the Avalon annual bills. No penalties or interest are chargeable until the grace period is over.
The annual Avalon Police Department auction of unclaimed items (primarily bicycles) was postponed due to inclement weather from Mothers' Day weekend, May 7th, until Saturday, August 6, 2022. Time and place will be posted on the Borough's Website.
