Council held the regularly scheduled sessions on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. The following issues of interest were addressed:
A resolution approving liquor licenses for the year will be delayed until the next Council Meeting. Paperwork for one application is incomplete at this time.
Council Meeting dates for the coming fiscal year (July 2024 to June 2025) were approved and will be posted to the Borough's website.
Council approved a Municipal Aid grant application for the resurfacing of the southbound lanes of Dune Drive from 27th to 39th Streets.
Alan Czako is a newly appointed Class I Officer for the Avalon Police Department.
There was a discussion about the relocation of the failed stormwater outfall pipe infrastructure in the vicinity of 576 7th Street and 606 7th Street.
During the public comment period, Mr. Jake Peski, an attorney representing one of the property owners, addressed his client's objections to this action and advised that the property owner intends to initiate litigation to stop the action.
During the public comments period, Mr Kevin Peasy raised objections to the assignment of boat slips in the Marina. His objections were addressed by Jim Waldron, Assistant Borough Administrator.
