Borough Council: September 11

Avalon Borough Council met for their regularly scheduled meeting on September 11, 2024.  The following issues of general interest were addressed at the meeting:

  1. Borough Administrator Scott Wahl presented copies of a draft letter from Council regarding the Juvenile Justice Reform Act to the Governor and the Legislature.  The draft included Council's recommended changes.

  2. Council discussed and approved the bond ordinance proposal in the amount of $6,650, 000 for capital improvements (including Bay Park Marina reconstruction).

  3. Council considered proposed expenditures related to the 22nd Street water main replacement project.  Expenditures will cover the cost of asphalt, milling, and landscaping.

  4. Mott McDonald and Taylor Design are collaborating on the Bay Park Marina reconstruction.  Taylor Design is responsible for the building and Mott McDonald is responsible for everything else.  They will also take action to prevent duplication of any efforts in this major project.
